I have used 5W-30 ESP for the entire period I have done my own services but this is the first time I have seen 5W-40. I wonder if it is a response to Fiat / Chrysler / Jeep specifying Rotella 5W-40 as the preferred lubricant.

Yes it was GL Lubricants where I found it. When I look at the approvals it has an MB/Chrysler one. Also some old threads list it as discontinued in 2013. Mobil may have brought it back (they still have the PDS on their website)or it may be old stock. It is not in their EBAY store. The specs for sulphated ash is the same as the 5W-30 which is 0.6, well under the Rotella T6.
They import all their stock from the US. I have spoken to one of the owners and they state they have a new shipment coming in at the end of November which will contain new stock of RotellaT6.

I've been buying Rotella from them for a while now. Seems to be good stuff at a reasonable price.
