Default Weird or random electrics behaviour

I've had some weird happenings with electrics recently, wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone: Yesterday the wipers came on randomly, at first I thought I'd caught the switch when putting the blinkers on, but I really don't think so. Twice during the day the doors decided to lock by themselves while driving, the first time I thought my passenger had pressed the door button without realising it, but then it happened again later and I doubt either of us did that. Last week the door mirrors unfolded by themselves on one occasion when I started the car (I keep 'em folded in the garage) whereas normally I unfold with the button.

I'm beginning to suspect the battery may be on it's way out, which as far as I can tell is original as it has Chrysler markings on it. If so, it's 5 yrs old but I don't know if that would produce these symptoms.

Any thoughts guys?

My 2013 Diesel started doing similar stuff then drove it back home and it died as I was pulling into the driveway
Needed new Alternator and Battery, I got this battery if you need one as Jeep Dealer wanted $700 for one. I ended up with this one

Yikes! thanks Sunturf, think I'll go for new battery as well. I'm already looking at replacing the alternator before it does one on me. Dealer is saying 4-6 weeks on back order but a well known auto electrician in my area can supply and fit an after-market one (Jaylec) straight away. What alternator did you get, and did you go to an independent for fitting, or Jeep dealer?

Yep, that's certainly the best option for claiming against an eventual recall. Sorry for all the questions mate, but did you have a long wait for an OEM unit to be sourced (like I've been quoted) with your dealer? That's why I feel pushed into looking at after market options.

7 Days from order to delivery to dealer but I think they have no stock in the parts distribution centre as I was lucky enough to get one as the Diesel alternators are starting to fail more and more.
