a few things got me thinking about engine block temperature, and overheat warning alarms
including;
1) an overheated engine, needed rebuild, only warning was felt a miss on a long uphill climb, noticed warning a gauge hit high, engine cooked
2) cracked radiator on Commodore..audible warning..pull over = ok
3) obtain engine subject high-end rebuild, notice it ha glue on "tabs" that melt at 125C (void warranty)
4) see adverts for this
https://engineguard.com.au/product/e...re-sensor-kit/
it seem to work by direct contact with engine block (and trans body)
I wonder what temp they are set to ?
an audible block temp alarm is a good thing imo, as in some circumtances, the water temp gauge can be unreliable (such as when you do not see it !) but also sudden loss of all coolant, or steam pocket
