Default Steering shaft came off steering box

Hey dudes,

Just lost steering in my WJ and had a joyful experience trying to stop with the steering wheel not connected to anything, just thankful it happened at 60 not 100.
Also glad I had a mate with me to help me kick the wheels to steer it up the footpath.
I just had a full exhaust done and they disconnected the shaft to get the headers in there, so I dont know whether it rattled loose/wasnt tightened/was never bolted back on. Can some one tell me if it is just a bolt that clamps the shaft onto the steering box or if there is also a pin in there somewhere.

I'd hazard a guess someone forgot to put the bolt back in, if they did they didn't tighten it up. If it was tight, there is not way the shaft could have rattle off as the bolt sits in a recess on the shaft.

I'd be paying the shop a visit and have a few polite, yet stern words that express your dissapointment.

WTF...

Either case this is just crazy. I definitely would not be able to keep calm but ask them if their intention was to kill you.
Any professional will immediately understand that they screw things up. Though I doubt that they will admit it.

I will have a chat with them on monday, we are all human and obviously no one did that on purpose. Still gave me a fright though haha.
