Default FCA - JL Rubicon Complaint letter...

Hey guys,

The other week, I filled out a FCA complaints handling form on the FCA Australia website in regards to the new JL and specifications for Australia (https://www.fiatchrysler.com.au/CHS)

I kept it all official and low key but tried to make my point about the specifications and the effect on sales if we were to receive the European spec vehicle in the Rubicon model here is Australia versus the USA spec version. How delivering the European spec version could cost them a lot of sales.

I did point out that I placed my order for a Rubicon back in March 2018 and was under the impression that I was getting the USA spec Rubicon with high rise guards and 33” tyres. This was a major driving factor in the purchase for me.

I also pointed out that any serious 4wder will buy the Rubicon model and that FCA could capture the entire Australian 4wd market if they were to sell the USA spec model where people can legally fit up to 35” tyres and the option of fitting Mopar dealership fitted 2” Fox suspension, bar work and many other Mopar accessories which they have designed for the JL. This would put them in a situation no other car dealership in Australia could compete with. I also pointed out that if it were to be delivered with the 3.0lt Diesel engine also they would own the market! Imagine having a 200kw V6 diesel with 8 speed auto on locking Dana 44 axles running a legal 2” lift with legal 35” tyres, and all under factory warranty! More so when they deliver the Gladiator dual cab.

They called me this week for a follow up chat. The FCA employee could not confirm the specifications of the JL Rubicon but did say they had not made any definite choices but appreciated the feedback. He also pointed out if more people were to fill out the same FCA form it may add strength to the final decisions by FCA. We chatted for a quite a while and he urged me to tell others to fill out the complaint form also.

So members, if you are considering a new JL Rubicon please take a few moments and vent your opinions to the specifications preferred by Australian 4wders on their website. This may save us all a lot of money in modifications and tyre size options whilst remaining legal in all states of Australia.

Thanks for your time,

Rgds Keith...

Nice work Keith, I wasn’t aware of this complaint/suggestion form. Got a link to save the terminally lazy from searching?

Doug.

What about putting something on the Jeep facebook site?https://www.facebook.com/jeepaustralia/. Cause that form is not safe as it's not encrypted. Plus it looks like it's going to Allianz going off the small print as below:

Your enquiry will be forwarded to FCA Australia’s Takata Compulsory Recall management service provider, Allianz Worldwide Assistance. FCA and Allianz respect your privacy and we will only use the information you provide for the purposes of processing and fulfilling your request or enquiry. FCA’s Privacy Policy and Allianz’s Privacy Policy contain further details regarding how you can access or correct information we hold about you, how you can make a privacy related complaint, how that complaint will be dealt with and the extent to which your information may be disclosed to overseas recipients.

Doh! It wouldn’t let me view the form due to security settings.
All good now, thanks.

I smashed a form out to FCA on the linked form, and hope that it bolsters the case for the up-spec Rubicon to be available in this country. Without it, I doubt I'll consider upgrading from my current JKUR, and will seek alternative manufacturers with better overall support for their customer base.
