Default Blackvue Power Magic Pro

Im trying to install a PMP in my Summit. I understand its not everybodys choice but i am using one. But the thing I dont understand is the wiring.

Now I mean this because the yellow red and black wires that run to the white plug that plugs in to the actual PMP is only about 450mm long. Now I would want this box in the cabin but with the fuse box in under the hood, these three wires obviously arent getting to the fuse box.

Ive watched and read heaps of posts about installs on these things but not once have i read a jeep one where it said it needed to extend the wires to get to the fuse box. Is this just a given? It just seems a bit crap that i have to extend the wires with a connection and then another connection at the fuse box with a fuse tap

It's a bit crap.

I guess they've adopted the position that many cars have potential power sources in the cabin, so that's all you get.

Why not just wire it so you can turn it on or off, my last vehicle I had the dash cam set up so it could stay on if I wanted by the flick of a switch, would run for a days sometimes and didn't run the battery down, would do its thing with the screen off.
