Default Rear upper shock absorber mounts.

Rear shocks have been "chuckling" for a while but they are now starting to get to me. GC is a MY14, build date Jan "14. I know there was a service bulletin in the US for this problem, but not here in Aus. GC has 79000 km up and is 2 1/2 years out of warranty. Have I got any hope of this being rectified by Jeep Aust, at their cost or not?? It has been a known fault and can be fixed with updated parts.
Rang Werribee Jeep today as Geelong Jeep is no longer and they pleaded ignorance to the problem but for a $250 service cost they would try to diagnose the problem and if it could be fixed, that would come off the cost of getting it done. I know there is Ballarat Jeep which I have not rung yet, but probably a similar answer??
I have done my own servicing since it has been out of warranty and the vehicle has been trouble free and I am totally happy with it apart from the shock chuckle.
Has anyone used Ballarat or Werribee Jeep and are there any recommendations??
What are my chances of Jeep coming to the party??

Jeep coming to the party with updated parts - I suppose you could try.
I'd be avoiding the potential Jeep dealer BS & contacting these guys
http://allgrandcherokee.com.au/
for professional advice (free of BS) on fitting some later model shock mounts from one of the WK2's they are wrecking. That way you can DIY.

good luck if jeep picks up the tab,

but i have to say my 2011 laredo is the same, not noticeable on good road surfaces, but short sharp bumps on country roads makes then "rattle'

ive replaced the rear shocks with Bilsteins and at the same time replaced the upper mounts with KYB,s and also the stabiliser bar end links with greeaseable ones, and while it has quietened it down its not perfect.

the bulletin require the upper mount to be removed and the rubber bush coated with a silicon product, supposedly the bush is squeeking as it rubs on the shock absorber metal upper bush mount.

ive also experimented with lubricating the rear spring upper insulator,

i don't seem to be able to totally get rid of it.

there is nothing loose or worn in the rear suspension, tyre wear is perfect.

so good luck, and PLEASE report back if you have success

oh ive also added extra screws and packers in an endeavour to tighten up the rear bumper cover, also removed the mudflats, these steps have also helped in overall quietening it down.
