The 3 speed in my 97 TJ is in need of a rebuild and I was wondering how involved it is to change to a 4 speed Is the 4 speed controllerd by the computer ?

it would appear the 3 speed isn't in as bad shape as the kids told me and it is a right royal PITA to get the computer to talk to the 4 speed so Ill try and fix the leaks and spend my money else where

When I had my 97 TJ I looked into changing the 3 to a 4 speed but from all the research that I did at the time I found that the 3 speed is a better and stronger box and now that I have an 06 TJ with the 4 speed I turn off the over drive every time I get in it because it is far too tall I’m hoping that it will get better when I get around to doing a
