Default Oil level on dipstick

Hi Team

Have you come across this? When I check my oil in the morning, oil level on dipstick shows just below MIN. Clean it off with a clean paper towel, insert it again, pull it out, and....shows on the MAX mark....???

Cheers

Ed

I found I managed to get decent readings once I did my own oil change, at first I filled up to about 500ml less than required, got everything all warm as it does require oil at temp, then topped up, now I find I get a reading thats on the mark and doesn't seem to wick that much, seems once its overfull a touch it will go crazy.....

I just tip mine into a drum and draw off a litre at a time using the old glass 1lt oil bottles...might have to check tough still using Castrol ATM as its price was better by heaps of $$$.
