Default Dpf issues

I am new to this forum, I have a 2015 G/C Overland diesel and I'm wondering if anyone has had problems with DPF failure. Regards Mick

Driven around town where they don’t have the time or revs to get red hot and burn everything off, they will clog up. I purchased a city driven vehicle a few years back and my mechanic gave the DPF a ‘chemical clean’, it came up like new. I drive on the highway a lot so never had DPF issues in that regard.

I had an off car DPF clean done on my 2015 diesel Laredo in June last year as the vehicle was experiencing higher fuel consumption due to excessive DPF regens & fuel dilution. After an oil & filter change I would see the oil life % 1% for every 200km then at about the 800km mark the oil life would drop 1% for every 30km which meant I was doing oil changes about every 3-3500km when the oil life dropped to 0%. By doing excessive regens to clean the DPF the extra fuel in the oil wasn't getting enough time to evaporate off despite doing a lot of highway km. The solution was to clean the DPF off car in a machine, replace the DPF pressure differential switch & all came good. Also be aware that the engine cooling system needs to be at 80 deg C or higher for the regen system to think about operating so if your thermostat is broken your regen system may not function correctly. I now monitor the DPF soot % level & regen function with a Bluedriver.

Cheers

None of them do mate, you have to access the information via the OBD2 port and software app.
