There isn't much room under the bonnet. I made a storage platform in the rear and have mine under that. I've heard of others who have put them under the front seats. Batteries are available in a range of shapes and sizes these days so it's certainly possible to put them elsewhere. Is the load in the front (winch) or in the back (fridge etc)?

fridge at the rear, to fit a battery inside it will have to be a AGM, as the other one release toxic gas and she already found a cheap sealed lead battery(deep cycle)

Well why didn't you say so?! I have assumed you are talking about the CRD here and not the 3.7. I've got the CRD and space is limited. Not sure about the 3.7.

There were several posts a while ago about fitting a second battery.

The idea I liked most was to carefully cut a plastic section out of the RHS cargo area and fit the battery in there. If the battery is small enough the removed plastic section can have hinges fitted on one side so the flap can be closed.

Well when I owned my kJ I built a tray and mounted it to the chassis under the car in the void between the chassis and the rear drive shaft..there were a few places I could use mounts to and worked well for a couple years

Mounting a battery underneath a KJ is a bad idea for a number of reasons. I ran my fridge battery in the rear compartment of my CRD, and that worked fine but i had built a custom storage unit with fridge slide and battery hold down. I used it extensively on a Simpson Desert and Cape York trips, but finally removed it as carting all that gear around all the time is a bad idea. I ran an ARB dual battery system so I could use the fridge battery as a start battery if needed. You cannot mount a second battery under the bonnet of a CRD, especially one running a Provent.
In North Qld a fridge running in the back of any 4x4 will rapidly run down any battery, simply because it is fighting to shed heat into the cabin.
I can tell you from experience, based on other KJs I have travelled with, a good esky with dry or regular ice is a much cheaper solution and will last for days, and does not need mods. People get mod fever and go crazy spending money on stuff they think they need, most of it wasted.
