Default 2018 GC touchscreen issue

Hi All,

Since day one, I've had this random issue but never when I presented the car to the dealer. The car just had its 60K service, and no updates were performed; however, the problem seems to worsen.

https://youtu.be/KvfXL_tOilU

As you can see the attached video, it's like someone is pressing the icon repeatedly. It happens on any menu option, not only the phone. This does not stop until I power off the screen and wait 10-15 minutes. This will usually fix the issue until the "next time".

Has anyone had this issue and what was the fix?

Seems to be lots of problems with this model in the US.

I read this to reset it -

You can try to reset the uConnect, here's the procedure:

1. Put your vehicle into accessories mode (push start button once without having your foot on the brake)

2. Hold down the Green Phone and Voice Recognition buttons for 30 seconds (push the buttons immediately after pushing the start button, before the Uconnect system has a chance to fully boot).

3. Let go of the two buttons.

4. Turn vehicle off and wait for the Uconnect screen to go black.

5. Open driver’s side door for thirty seconds.

6. Close driver’s side door.

7. Restart vehicle.

8. Let the uConnect system load up and see if the concern is still present.

Thanks, Fishframe. It's worth a try, I suppose.

They all seem to work though ! I had to reset some thing recently on my VF Commodore. Hold ignition button in for three seconds, push accelerator to floor once, open drivers door, shut drivers door, push ignition button three seconds again ect..... ect... it worked.

For sure, it is a goatroot of a system. The Uconnect/EVIC and similar systems are more than capable enough to have a service menu incorporated in them that allowed turning off chimes, resetting oil life etc.
