Default Tire pressure monitoring

I'm planning on visiting Fraser Island this year in my 2014 diesel Grand Cherokee and I have a question about what happens after I've deflated my tires, does the the TPM continue to sound an alarm because they're under-inflated? Also, this is my first automatic 4WD, should I leave it in auto if I get bogged or try and select another gear manually?

I've never had alarms when Ive aired down on the beach.............. As for gear selection, it really depends on the situation, how your stuck etc, when I'm getting off the beach thru the soft stuff or a very soft sandy track I pick a cog just to make sure it doesn't change but the 8 speed is magic really, of course traction control is off or it will get you into trouble, when I have have got stuck I've usually bellied out which means lots of digging.

There are no alarms, your TPMS will just show the pressure figures in red that's all.

On sand just turn your terrain selector to Sand and leave the auto gearbox to do it's thing. Just remember though, if you stop and turn the engine off, the terrain selector will default back to Auto.

If you get bogged, put it in reverse and try to back your way out which in most cases will free you. There is no need to try to drive it manually as the gearbox is pretty smart. It knows what it's doing.

Yep, the pressures just change colour. Best to leave it on that screen, it updates pretty quick.

Mine must be slack, on the odd time I have dropped the pressure on the beach it hasn't done a thing, beach mostly hard and flat and with 40 km to Noosa at 80kph usually keep them up and launch across the soft stuff to the road.......... sometimes it doesn't go to plan though.
If going to Fraser take a compressor and make sure you keep the engine running when you use it.....Don't light a Fire and make sure you book early and online.

I watched mine constantly across the Simmo, luckily as down the Birdsville Tk one of the suckers sprung a leak, very obvious drop in "bar" every 20 seconds or so.
The bastard still kept reading while it was on the roof 😀
