Default 2.7 CRD breathing hose and p0700

Hello,

I recently replaced my starter and a vent tube came loose. I am searching through the manuals and images online on where it came from. I've been reading that it's supposed to be on top of the bell housing. But on images I also see it on the transfer case. The tube came through near the starter.

I also got error p0700 after replacing the starter.

On the first picture I found on google images it shows a place to attach the hose on top of the bell housing and on the transfer. Does it not attach to the bell housing but only the transfer case?

Not sure exactly where it should go but it doesn't really matter where it goes. Just make sure it's as high as possible in the engine bay but ensure that you have enough slack in the hose to allow for movement.

As for the P0700 do you have the WJDiag Pro software? If not I'd suggest you purchase as it'll make life a little easier to diagnose this issue as the P0700 is a pretty generic code. You may have just upset something when you replace the started and clearing the MIL may solve your problem.

That app looks great, gonna get an elm device and get it. Should save a lot of guessing.

The breathing tube is 90% sure from the transmission. I can see a vent tube at the diff and one at the transfer case. I have been looking with mirrors and my phone at the top of the bell housing but I can't find anywhere where the vent tube comes from.

It saves a lot of guessing not sure if you're in Oz or not but Jaycar apparently has a device that works.

It's most likely the transmission or transfer case breather, as long as it's up high in the engine bay you should be good to go,

It's the part that is stuck to the transmission or transfer case that came loose. The open end is snuck in the engine bay.
