Murchison Products
So I purchased a front bar and rock rails from the above ($2,590 inclusive of shipping), here is a detailed account of my experience.
I'm Melbourne based, but ordered a 2013 Animal Offroad bar and rock rails on July 1st, from Murchison, as they were a little cheaper than ordering direct from ORA, I made my purchase via their website and PayPal, I didn't receive an invoice or receipt or anything of the sort, I simply received an email stating " An administrator has created an account for you " and nothing else.
5 days passed and I had not received any correspondance from Murchison, updating the status of my order. I attempted to log in to their website, via the link provided and got an "Access Denied" error message (see below), I then attempted to email them to enquire and got a "Message Blocked" email response (also see below).
I phoned them up on the 6th and spoke with Stuart on the phone, where he advised me they were having issues with their website and we proceeded to confirm my order, he said that he had everything in stock and that he would ship it out to me that day, I then received a follow up call from him saying that "due to the error in his system, it didn't charge me shipping" I advised that it CLEARLY stated on his website, that shipping was included, he responded by saying that "it was a glitch and that shipping was a further $150", rather than argue, and being that I had already waited 5 days I reluctantly paid the EXTRA $150 and was told that it would be shipped right away and went about my business.
I waited a further 3 days without any udate emails or tracking numbers etc, so I phoned them back on the 9th to see where we were at (I placed my order on the 1st, so I was getting frustrated at this point), I spoke with Sam this time round, who advised that the order hasn't been shipped and that he would do it right away (which he did as I received my tracking number etc).
Fast forward another 5 days (2 weeks in total) I received my products (it turns out, he drop shipped them from ORA in Melbourne, who are a 35 minute drive for me, but charged me $150 shipping from QLD, for something I would have picked up myself, had I have know he was doing that).
I have started installing my front bar and it turns out I have been sent a 2017 bar, instead of a 2013 bar (which I ordered through his glitchy, bugged, non working website AND confirmed with him IN PERSON over the phone).
I have spoken directly with ORA about this as Stuart has basically thrown his hands in the air and said "˙ou ordered the wrong thing, I can see your order in my system" (the very system, mind you, that you can't log into, receive invoices from and Stuart himself said they are having major issues with, to the point that they are getting someone out to fix it), but I ordered the wrong thing, I don't know what year my Jeep is.... OK mate!!!!
ORA have been great to deal with (I wish I had of just paid the little bit extra in the beginning and bought direct, WHICH I ENDED UP PAYING ANYWAY, BECAUSE DODGY STU CHARGED AN EXTRA $150 FOR AN ITEM THAT WAS ADVERTISED AS FREE SHIPPING), ORA are going to swap the item out for me, but I have to pay a restocking fee, because the dodgy business in QLD sent me the wrong thing...
Lesson learned, buy direct where you can, I'll never buy anything from Murchison again, I have another $5kish to spend on my Jeep, and not a single cent of it, will be going through them!

Hardly seems to be the actions of a business trying to please their customers, or maybe Jeep dealers have set the service bar so low the aftermarket operators figure that Jeep owners will be happy with anything.

Thanks for this info as I was getting ready to pull the trigger @ $2800 from his store. Had been tossing this around but reading this, I need to look elsewhere.

My thoughts exactly, I didn't get upset it at all during the several phone conversations I had, I was very polite, while waiting 2 weeks for a locally shipped/ locally produced product, that he said he had in stock on his shelf (so theoretically should have taken days to arrive), I didn't even crack it when he stung me for the extra shipping (even though his site clearly stated shipping was included)..
But after my discussion with him trying to worksomethingout, again, quite calm, he said "soooo, do you have another question for me, I'm busy"
As I said, last time I'll ever use their business..

I wouldn't use them again, the whole process was a F up, from the minimal response, once an order was placed (no email confirming the purchase, no invoice confirming the purchase), to the phone call 5 days later where we double checked the order, before supposedly shipping it, to the additional 3 days until they ACTUALLY shipped it, to the 5 more days of frieght to go from one side of Melbourne to the other (a 1 hour drive), to the item being wrong and then having the blame shifted to me??
My advice, look elsewhere
If you are buying ORA stuff, contact them directly, they are fantastic..

Word of mouth can either make or break a business more powerfully than anything. Can't believe guys like this still think they can get away with this crap when 'word' spreads on social media faster than cv19 spreads in Syd or Mel.
