Default Through the Grill Light Bar Mount

I've go this idea that I'd like to do a light bar mount the where a couple of tabs come out through the grill and the light bar is mounted to them.

Has anybody done this? I've trawled through various threads and other forums and haven't found anything other than behind the grill mounts.

My the main concern will be the stability of the mount and reducing vibrations. If anyone knows of any existing mounts that work that would be great.

Not intersted in a nudge bar or bull bar I want to keep the wieght down.

Gave it some thought and be a bugga of a job, would need to construct a frame that would allow a number of tabs to protude from grill to mount a rail to fit lights to, otherwise they would just vibrate as tabs pretty small to fit thru grill...of course not chopping the plastic.

An ECB bar is 35kg and the alloy or steel arguments are mostly BS, have taken out thousands of skippies and it really depends where you hit...............

There was a picture floating around from a Ch7 news segment a while back where a Jeep with this light bar setup like you describe drives past in the background, but no one got to the bottom of how it was done.

Sounds interesting though, good luck with it

Stedi have a set up for a Ford Ranger that is like Drover suggests. It is pretty pricey though. Stedi also have a few other mounts that look like they are either billet or cast ally that probably won't flex if I can mount them effectively. I might consider doing a small nick in the grill if I have to . The light will probably be there forever anyway.

Make some nice elegant round alloy blocks and Sikaflex marine adhesive to bumper and screw a led light bar to them....... no pulling stuff off and easily replaced when new bumper fitted after hitting Roo's....
