Default Soft Top load capacity?!

When I drive down to Brissie in 11 days, 9 hrs and 34 minutes, I really really really want to take my Kayak as well. Really....
As I've yet to source a reasonably priced and useful roof rack for the TJ, I was wondering if the soft top frame would be able to handle the weight? The Kayak weighs approx 30-40 kgs, and would have to be tied down front and rear.
Any ideas/experiences/funny stories?
Now 11 days, 9 hrs, and 31 minutes.....

Couldn't you position the weight across the windscreen and the roll bar - or too far forward? I guess you should also consider any down force from the aerodynamics - 40 kgs might be a lot more if it is being pushed downwards by the wind... or a lot lighter ;)

I did think about that, and it made sense...problem being when the top is up, the frame is higher than the roll bar.

why not just fold the top down then use the roll bar and windscreen ??
