Default Tanks for Water

Is anyone running an Aux Tank for water? Something like LRA Aux Fuel tank, but filled with water? Maybe in a 45 liter size.

Probably would have to be a custom job but you could always check out one of those water bladders they make to go across the rear floorwell.

Default Tanks for Water

before my big trip to the cape and kimberly's next year i was going to get a custom one down that fits on the floor behind the 2 front seats, where the foot positions for the rear seat is.
i know its low but a pump would do the job well, hand or powered.

its a good place cause otherwise its a wasted bit of space when packing the car and also its in the centre of the car, not dropping more weight on the rear than it will already have when packed full, jerry cans etc of petrol plus tools, spares and camping gear, cloths you know the lot.

tell me what you come up with, im very interested in different ideas - mine is only an idea for now

is the water for drinking?
if so you would want it cool. so you would need a nice fat wad of insulation between the tank and the floor.
also you could look in to using a petlier cooler to keep the water cool perhaps?

I like the idea of the bladder, too - but I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a full one in that footwell without taking the side windows out. I had not thought of the insulation problem but I am sure there are ways around that.

For reasonably cool water for drinking, why not one of the old bags that people used to mount on the front of the bumper. You'd be amazed how cool and sweet it keeps there in the airflow caused by a moving car. Plenty of space to mount a couple on a bullbar, too, and refill from the bladder.
