Just when you thought 5 speeds was enough !!
gordy, i told the BB that a while back, where's that memory gland of yours?
on the rancho note, it will be the goss rite now how somthing like 8 of the competitors racing the out back had rancho 9000 failures.
they basically cooked them, other non-race shocks on other trucks shat too but none are getting the bad rap the ranchos are getting!!
ray (auto alliance) & i had a yarn about it the other day, seems these guys are doing more of a baja 1000 type race in short spurts, and running shocks that we use on daily wheelers. and only running one per wheel AND running the lightly valved 9012 that has the mega 13" travel.
what guys like mc mullen run (the winning TJ!!) are remote piggy back fox shocks, like you see 3 or 4 or even 5 on each corner of a desert race truck from the U.S. they can take the pounding, rancho make a $1200 each race shock too, when you know what a shocker does and you want to drive like a mad man in an off road race you cant expect a single light weight shock to last 5 minutes.
before the "did you hear all the ranchos' in the out back shat" rumour starts to circulate you need to understand why.
they over heated & locked up. all the money in the world spent on these mad off roaders and there still mucking around blowing up shocks not designed for off road racing espessially if run as single units.
its not a rancho problem, its a race car builders problem.
just letting the BB boys know before anyone!
as for the 9000X, there going to be here in a month or three, rancho have had a mammoth production line & shipping hold up going for the change. and there going to be around $199 retail each.
