I am not sure if this is the right area to post but here goes:
Friend from my old home town bought an old jeep (Ford GPW Number 132487) and has fully restored it. It was bought by the Army in October 1943, used in the Northern Teritory, then put into storage (possibly Singleton) about 1960 and then sold some time after by 2 BOD. Any information or pointers as to where I might be able to find a history for this vehicle of this vehicle for him would be much appreciated. He intends to donate it to the local RSL and would like to do so with a full history.

These and also clubs in SA and QLD for Miltary Jeeps can be found in the back of 4x4 trader etc

There used to be a website called "The WWII Jeep" run by a bloke named Steven Malikoff.In QLD I think) It was a treasure trove of Aussie WWII Jeep info. Tried to get to the site today but it looks like it might not be there anymore? I have it bookmarked at work but not here at home sorry. I was trying to find the site to pass along his email addy to you but of course was unable to. I'll keep trying in case it was just a server related problem today.
