Some questions for the more experienced
i agree with matt. These engines are more finicky than the real ones. No back pressure.. no brum brum! You canmake them up.. but they prolly won't run AS WELL as the stock one. The next step up from stock would be a "tuned" pipe. These can come in the form of a pre bent/chambered alloy pipe, or in the case of HPI, same.. but made out of plastic/resin stuff.
HOWEVER, I think if you lengthen the pipe, you get more torque or top end.. not sure.. but just heard on the grapevine!
As for Air engines, I don't see how they wouldn't work, just the mounts and the cooling would be the prob. Think, airplane has a prop that pushes air past the head, whereas car has to push itself to push air past the head.. You could adapt a water cooled sytem (like a boat/car). Come to think of it, I remember seeing a tmaxx with a boat water head and a radiator! (and water pump) looked cool.. but can't remember if it made a difference or not!
Cheers,
Hope this helps!
