Default TJ Heaven of 35's

Guys,

I would need to know how to prepare my girl for a big upgrade....getting the TJ upgraded with 35's. It only has a 2" OME lift and 31's at the moment.

To start with: What's the impact on the homeloan? $5k or more?

If I take it wisely she will say yes if she gets her overseas holiday.

Do you really need 35's?

Because you can get away a lot CHEAPER and without doing as much if you went to 33's. You could basically do a 2" BL with what you've currently got and fit them in nicely.

Just a thought.

yeh as MR.04 X IV mentioned ....
if still really want 35s....then looking at ;
SYE + shaft(still a good mod to do though) ,
shocks,
spacers(at the least) or good quality springs,
CA upgrade to the adjustable variety,
r&p upgrade(may as well do lockers at same time then)

did i miss anything guys?

OK,

Ratios, 4:56 at least. $3500-$4500 (that's with lockers)
Lower adjustable control arms, or at least to suit the height $500-$900
At least upper control arms for rear $250?
SYE $900
Rear Drive shaft $950
Coils (5"-5.5")$650
Shocks $660
Extended rear track bar + drop bracket $250-$450
Front Drop Pitman are $80
Tyres $1000-$1400 (4 only)
Rims $250+++++++
Extended flares if going 12.5 $700+++
Extended Front track bar $250+++
Extended rear sway bar links to suit $50-150
Front sway bar discos to suit $150-$550
Extended brake line $70 each (x3)
Extension of handbrake cable or handbrake bracket relocation $50
Extension of diff breathers $20
Wheel alingment $50
Labour $300+++++ (if not fitting yourself)
Rear spare wheel carrier $985+++++++

I know that's a bit of a list but if you want to fit 35's and for it the 35's to be used then this pretty much the list, don't think I've missed out on much.
As Mr 04XIV has said you can get way with out doing a lot of these things if you go 33's or used a body lift to get the height you need. With a body lift you won't have to worry about alot of the extension to things and in a small way the need for adjustable CA, but you will definately some sort of CA replacement above a 3" coil lift.
Also be wary that the added straight on your front diff and axels with a 35 rolling around on them, so if you go 35's don't be suprised if something goes SNAP, but on the other hand there are plenty of guys running on 35 without ever breaking a thing in the diffs (me!!, Wooders), but just a thing to consider.
Now with everything I've listed there are ways of reducing the cost but as far as I can't remember sitting in front of the comp, that will be what ya looking at to get it done, and these prices are from my own experience so are only to be used as a Very rough guide. Also these prices and list has come from using coils instead of spacers to get the height you need.

Now I hope the missus still gets her overseas holiday.

The rear tailgate will die in a short time carrying a 35" tyre. Hence the inclusion.

Lexx fergot to include a LOT of labour cost in the above post. DIY is big this year!
