Default Got SYE now which DS

Decided on Hack & Tap SYE for my 95XJ. Now to decide on drive shaft?

Single cardan, Double cardan, Tom Woods, etc?

I'm runnin D35(3.55for now,~4.56 future), NP242, 31x10.5(33's future)

Our trails are sand & mud, rarely rock(only when i go looking).

What do you use?
What did you pay? and
What would you do if you had to do it again?

thanks

Have been helping someone for a while now to try and get rid of their vibes after a SYE that has standard uni both ends. He just wishes he took a double cardon at the top just like all the good kits in the US have!
There is a big discussion on JU at the moment where guys that use any other brand other than RE so they can use a front shaft for the rear. The RE ones you cant do it without buying an adaptor as it runs a flat flange rather than the same as your diff end type! However you cannot bolt in a front shaft unless you have the new ultra short AA SYE which it is 2.5" shorter than the standard SYE or have 6" of lift and the required drop in the bumpstops.

Hi Kimberley Crusader

Go Jeep has been helping me sort out some vibes I have been having with my 4.5 lift with SYE (Flange style).

I have single cardan joints and have spent much time (read: 6 weeks) sorting it all out. Firstly my pinon angles where 'out' (this much be sorted if going the single cardinal option, very important), secondly found that my 'new' drive shaft was out of balance and that the flange was warped. Getting the new flange fitted and drive shaft re-balanced tomorrow, finally.

In summary, make sure you get a good drive shaft built, a double cardinal is a luxury, however also know that a single cardinal will mean a transfer case drop (probably).

If I was doing it again, I would go the double cardinal (although have never had one), although have been told that it will not always solve vibration problems, however you will not have to drop your transfer case.

Good luck, hope I helped
