Default recovery points on CJ rear

Cjers, need to organise recovery points on the back of the CJ8. Was thinking of just welding half a chain link at either end of the frame..

dont have a wheel carrier or rear bar for attachment and I'll be taking the goose neck (attached by two bolts..) off the towbar to improve clearance..

what have you done?

Welding half a chain link would be very scary i think. You really want a rated recovery hook/loop secured with high tensile bolts. Cant really comment where is good on a CJ tho. You cxan possibly use the towbar as a recovery spot. As in thread strap into where the gooseneck would be.

Mate if I was recoving your Jeep, I'd MUCH rather see proper tow hooks bolted to your chassis......I'd probably decline to recover from welded on bits of chain.....
Think of the other bloke and what he'd be thinking - remember if it fails it goes flying towards him & his junk

yeah i've got the tow hooks but cant find a spot to bolt them on

when I say chain link I mean a big 3" diameter mama link...

perhaps i can mount the hooks upside down although i'd like to keep things clear down there because of the huge overhang..
