Default CJ Towbar

Anybody got any information on towbars for a cj7.
Nobody seems to have a listing for them

the factory style one is not really that much it was a steel loop that hang down between the 2 rear shackles with a hole drilled in it for the ball

You can see it here running between the 2 bumperettes

most people have them made into their rear bar with a reciever type hitch but then they are not rated and not exactly legal not sure of anyone making rated ones in Australia

you can have your own home made one inspected at a tow bar supplier

Handy to know, I thought they had to be destruction tested but they may be for only manufactures

yeah thats what my one looks like... i dunno if i'd trust it... hehehe... but perhaps for just a box trailer... on stilts.

What I was told was they needed to be mounted to the same points as a factory
tow bar and be made of adequate material and a good quality job
but I never bothered to chase it up

just a thought, but why would you have to get it inspected?....whats stopping someone from making one and using it....
