Default Auto transmission fluid lines (to radiator)

Hi All,

Are there any advantages / disadvantages of running high presure, high temp rubber lines as opposed to the stainless ones?

Am refering to the two lines which run from the radiator to the auto transmission.

I have to make some mods to get the stainless ones to fit anyway, and was thinking that using hose might be easier / neater.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Dave

Should not be a prob if you can keep them up and out of the way, also think about running a external tranny cooler and not run it through the radiator at all. My auto used to overheat offen off road and this fixed the problem and you are not putting extra heat in to your radiator ,that should help a small bit in cooling the engine.

I put an Alloy tranny cooler in front of my radiator, it never over heats now, as Ian said it keeps less heat from the rest of the cooling system.
I ran the steel lines to where they leave the chassis rails then rubber to the front only problem Ive had was when a clamp let go and squirted trans fluid on to the extractors! Great smokin effect, just a bit smelly

i need a smaller transmission cooler, my one at the moment blocks all the cool air coming in the grill from getting to the radiator! hot days im pushin 100 degrees cause theres no cold air coming to it to cool it, and the fans would only be blowing around the same hot air from the transmission cooler and the radiator, so get one that doesnt block the cool air intake so much hehe..

if ne one has a small one for sale, i'll cosider buying it. hehe.

I picked mine up from the wreckers it was an small aftermarket cooler put on an old falcon for towing, I think it was about $20.
Just walk around and have a look for one. I had a look at my radiator when they had the tanks off it and the tranny cooling is only one pipe going in one side and out the other,I could not see how that would help much.
