Default Sand dune flag on a WJ with no bullbar - suggestions please

Hi there everybody. I am off to Robe with MJOC in a couple of weeks and need to work out how to attach a dune safety flag when I have no rear wheel hanging off the boot and no bullbar up front. It's work's car so I don't want to do any permanent "damage" like holes in the bumper bar that don't appear to have another purpose (such as holding the number plate in place until the next bog hole ). Look forward to lots of useful suggestions, and no "just add the bullbar" ain't an option .

Get a bonnet CB radio mount. And use that to mount your 3 meter pole (and flag) all you need to to is screw it on to the underneath of the bonnet (just put something soft between the mount and your bonnet so it dosn't scratch you paint work)

About $10 from autobarn / Repco.

Use a light pole if you can something like an old fishing rod (firm type not whip type)

Not sure if you have a rear hitch reciever but if you do and have a tow bar , take the tow bar ball joint off and stick the pole in there instead. (That's actually a top idea. Might mention that at the MJOC meeting on Tuesday)

If you do have a hitch reciever but no tow bar attachment, let me know and I'll lend you mine.

You can also make yourself up a bracket and secure it to one of your roof rack cross bars. Just a bit of metal that can hold the pole and secure it using a couple of steel o-rings.

There you go pick one, any of them should work for you.

im a little sceptical about mounting a bracket on any of the body panel with a 3m pole hanging off it..
if it works for you cool, but i have made my front fender panel out of alignment by 10mm once... i wouldnt do it myself..

the tow hitch reciever is a TOP idea.. but make sure you can get to & open ya tail gate...

another might be tie it to your nudge bar? (looks liek you have a nudge bar.)

Uhmmm... a single cross-bar on your roof rail? Attach the pole to that and you'll get even more height. Nothing touches the car

Well I wandered around Autobarn today, nothing useful. Same story at Repco. Neither even knew what I was talking about when I asked for a bonnet CB mount bracket . Went to Bunnings in desperation and just wandered up and down looking for inspiration. Found something I'll try over the next few days and total cost will be less than $20 . I'll let you all know by next weekend how it works. Plan is to remove the top and bottom screws holding the number plate in at one end and attach conduit clips (plastic ones made by Clipsal rather than the metal saddles which don't hold the conduit firmly). Bang some orange conduit into the clips which will be cut into 2x1.5m lenths for easy transport and joined at the flange end end with duct tape when in use. Other than that I'm down to the towbar idea 'coz no nudge bar and no roof crossbars .

Magnetic base CB radio antennae converted over? Stick it on the roof?
Hell, I couldn't even find a beach flag when I was looking for one around Sydney...
