Default Jackeroo replacement....Territory joys.

Rumour has it that The General is going to import a USA produced Chevy SUV to replace the aging Jackeroo later this year (possibly the Trailblazer or Tahoe..below) ......Ford is stealing the show with its runaway success Territory * and Holden have been caught with their pants down with nothing to replace the 'Roo with. If true, it will be good to see yet another non-Asian SUV on our streets.

* The Territory, love it or hate it, is causing problems for Ford...they underestimated sales volumes and have major issues with suppliers not being able to keep up with them.....this vehicle is the only Aussie made SUV on the market and although not a true 4 x 4 (it lacks a dual range transmission) it has received glowing reports in the motoring press and in this writers opinion looks very good...it is possible that a variant will be offered with raised suspension and a centre diff before long...you can bet the current market leader, Toyota, will be watching very closely.

dunno if the US made Trailblazer & Tahoe can compete with the Territory, judging by the lack of options base on the WJ in the last 5 years...
i would be extremely happy with a territory if i could afford one.

Ha ha - you WISH we were getting a US 4x4.

What we're really getting is a DAEWOO (remember them - ha ha) built soft roader.

Yeah, something that GMH can really build a reputation on....

Bill, put things in perspective- brand new Landrover GPS factory option- $4,500, for that I can outfit your Grand with the biggest baddest meanest stereo/DVD/CD/MP3/TV/GPS in a factory like enclosure which would you prefer?
So there is no current factory option? so what?

Oh, and no-one does a factory GPS per-se it is a SAT-NAV system all of which have varying degrees of inaccuracy, due to the age of the maps and the regularity and ability to update- check out ANY factory SAT-NAV system going into apoplexy as you drive the new Kiama bypass .

Finally having used both street director+memory and SAT-NAV around sydney give me the paper and addled brain any day! Granted when I go to other major cities SAT-NAV is useful. but how many of the soccer mums buying these cars that must have it actually drive more than to the school and back anyway?

my 2cents worth

I don't think you'll ever see another "Hard Core" factory built 4WD
