The Goatsack (97 TJ) is getting a
front tube fender convo and
hi-steer conversion next week courtesy of Matt (aka gonads) at
M&M Custom Engineering in Sydney.
Plans are to be based on those waaaaay-cool
Poison Spyder numbers that JP is filled with these days.
eg :
Hi steer will involve the use of Pootrol-gauged rods and rod ends to be located on top of the knuckles eliminating the verrrrry ghey (aka flimsy, lame, drug-induced design) of the stock Jeep inverted Y e-z-bend steering setup.
This is following the final bending and ensuing roadside straightening of the Alumi-flex alloy tie rod and battered stock drag link and afterwards release into the wild (on the Hume @ speed) of the well-mashed front Warn 6" extenda flare.
I'll post pics and more than likely submit some endless ranting to Waz and Mike (those funky dudes at
JAA mag) for a full story with gory details.
Following some testing (next round of
XWC and
the weekend after at
JAD will do fine
) the intention is for
ABT4x4 and
M&M to offer both tube fenders and hi-steer conversions for stock-axled TJ's.
More rambling to come
