Default New Grand Cherokee Laredo CRD

Hi All, I'm a new member and also a new Jeep Owner. Have been looking for quite a while for a suitable vehicle to tow our new van(20ft) and I don't mind telling you I was having trouble finding something. Didn't want a Landcruiser or Patrol ( too big for the wife and the garage), didn't like the Prado, Pathfinder or Navara. Finally settled on the Grand Cherokee 65th edition. Only picked it up on Friday about 5.30pm and by 6.30am Saturday, we were headed to Sydney to help our son bring home his stuff, as he'd finished uni for the year. Not having owned a Jeep before, obviously we were a bit concerned, but arriving back home this afternoon after putting 1200ks on the clock, we're stoked!! It drives like a dream-so quiet and comfortable, with heaps of go when you need it. Looking forward to hooking up the van. I'm sure it will tow it with ease! Regards, Mike

Congats on the grand, their a great thing! Have one myself, just be warned if you take it off road those oh so soft springs bottom out on rough roads.

Its no big prob but as king springs have a stiffer spring for around $660 fitted

Enjoy!

Awesome Jeep, mickeyboy52, you lucky bugger. Stuk's right, a decent set of springs/shocks will turn an already impressive car into a beauty. OME will have a fully-sorted kit on the market in March, I'm told. It would have been on the market earlier, but apparently they needed to buy some specialised tooling or something, hence the delay.

do not tow with weight distribution devices eg level rides if you do do not tell jeep as when the subframe cracks out like mine did they will expect you to pay for some of the repairs while still under warranty

we all have problems with our vehicles - your issue just seems to pop up everywhere
claim it on insurance and go and buy a patrol or landcruiser and winge to them when it goes wrong
