Default V10 Dune Buggy?

Howdy All,

At work we have just got in an old V10 that used to be used on a mine site to run a Generator.

It has cracked a cylinder liner, and will need a new piston on that same spot. I believe it is a Ford engine... but im only going on what parts i know i have supplied for it...

Anyone think this would be a worthwhile project to undertake? Perhaps build something like a dune buggy... or even squeeze it into my old mans MQ Patrol...

Any ideas?

Thanks
Will

That's going to be a heavy ass engine. Not really designed for vehicle use. Going to be an interesting project!

Sorry to get everyones hopes up... but i found out today that its not going to be worht the hassle.

I had a really good look at the engine and the block has a big crack in it...

The engine isnt all that heavy, the whole thing is aluminium - it weighs about 700kg's...

Unfortunately, its not going to be worth the hassles.

Sorry to get everyone all excited and to start a thread to acheive nothing.

Cheers
Will

Do you realise how heavy that is for an engine !!!! no wonder it was for a generator !!! most performance V10's are half that weight, some even lighter

glad to see you didnt take it on !!
