Question Central Victoria - Extreme trip

Hi,
A few mates and I are planning a 1 week 4x4ing trip in June and want it as rough as possible.
One mate has a '42 Dodge Weapon carrier with a 351, Lokka and snow tyres and I have a CJ5 w V8, locked diffs and 33" Muddies.
We want a challange. We'll be heading through the Wonnangatta at some stage to meet some other friends but want a lot harder driving than that.
Deer hunting is also on the cards.
I look forwar to your suggestions!
Cheers, Cambo

my fear is that the tracks will still be closed after (assuming they are out by then!) the bushfires. With 25 years 4wd experience, my gut feeling is that the high country tracks will be closed for most of the year due to fallen and falling trees etc.

Hope I'm wrong, but that is how I see it......

We were discussing trips at the start of Dec for the Aust Day weekend, assuming that the fires would be well and truly gone by then, and thay are probably worse now than they were back then. Over a million hectares burnt out.

Good luck tho!

if you want parts of central victo tour, start with the wombat state forest. the head into the cobar. it will put you out near mt macedon and you could head east into melbournes eastern hills. good trips with no fires

Not a lot of extreme stuff in Wombat or Cobaw, maybe only a track or two, and certainly not enough for a weeks trip.....

Maybe pm Grant on tracks throughout the Pyrenees, further west?
