Default New Home Audio System-Speakers anyway

Gotta say I am pretty happy. Previously a couple years ago I asked many questions here about home theatre stuff. Due to money restraints at the time I bought a Sony AV Amp and some crappy Sony Satellite Speakers and Sub-Woofer. Well I have finally upgraded and WOW! Due to some room limitations I had to go with some brand name smaller speakers but the result is fantastic!

For the front Speakers I bought Bose 301's, for the rear speakers Bose 201's. Bought an Aussie made Subby, that being an Aaron SUB-120. 120W with 2 8inch drivers. For the Centre Speaker bought Aussie made again a Krix Microcentrix. I was going to also buy a new amp...but after listening to the new setup I can't fault the amp at all so far.

I can't remember who it was (Adman maybe?) that recommended Aaron to me for all my speaker needs. I so wanted the Aaron's but didn't have the room for the big floor standers. But I am happy with the Bose Speakers. Even though I know I have paid for the name. But I cannot fault the sound of them at all so far. Can turn the amp full noise and the speakers don't flinch. But the windows do!

My whole set up is Aarons - ATS4 as the front main, CC120 as the centre, SUB120 sub and SS120 as the rear effects. Took me a long while to get it that way (almost 5 years) starting with the mains and then gradually adding / replacing old ones to get the rest. Outstanding value for money and quality but alas no longer Aussie made (all mine are Aussie, in some cases bought second hand to get the matched set).

So the Aaron's must be "Assembled in Australia" then? Still can't fault the Sub at all. Never for a minute thought the electronics in anything would be made in Oz. Think I read it was Chinese or something. But what these days isn't?

Speakers are made in China now, not sure if they assembled into the boxes here. "New" versions just have "Australia" on the back, the Aussie ones have "Made in Australia" on the back. Stiil designed here, all the sound chambers and stuff like that are here at the Aussie factory is in Ballina.

Bose are great speakers, and great tech. B&O on the other hand are crap. IMHO they're the iPods of sound. Look great but low on tech and features.

For the size of the Bose, they produce brilliant sound, and always have as they've developed over the years.

I musta gotten ahold of old stock as the box says Made in Australia on it. I picked it up from Sound Advice in Perth for $499 which was $200 off RRP.

Old version has the aaron logo on the face cloth, new version has the aaron logo on the speaker box and the face cloth goes around the logo. If you got old stick, well done and a great pickup at that price. The subbie was one item I had to buy second hand (it had been used for about 6 months and then traded in on the SUB240) to get the old version and paid $399. New stuff is probably just as good, I just have this thing about people who go offshore and pretend that the whole kit and caboodle is still Aussie. Old versions were totally made in Aus.
