Will be at Surfers Saturday night 24 March, looking to catch up with the Qld bunch for dinner one night & a bit of wheeling the following weekend. I have booked a Wrangler for the above dates so whenever you guys can make it to your favourite spot that would be great. Ill leave it up to you guys.

D'oh, just spoke to the Jeep hire place, they hobble the TJ by removing the front drive shaft!!!!!! So where will be going? Obviously 4WD will be needed, might have to get a criuser from Avis..... YUK

They will probably do the same in a cruiser. Most hire joints here on the coast don't allow the cars to be taken off road. Ie no Straddie, moreton, fraser, or to the 4wd parks.
If you did take it anywhere like that, you could lose your bond, etc.
You may just have to do the cafe latte thing, or hitch in with someone else.

This is disappointing, over here in the west it is unheard of to take the drive shaft off when you hire a 4by. The guy at the hire place said that I would be lucky to hire 4x4. Maybe get a rav or CRV?
