Possible thermastat problem

I have just put in a new radiator and now when I am driving along, the temperature gauge fluctuates every 10 seconds between 6mm below the 100 degree mark to 6mm above the 100 degree line. I think maybe the thermastat is faulty but why did it happen the same time I put the new radiator in.

I take you have one of the 40 tube per row radiators? They flow so much more that the thermostat has trouble operating against the increased flow.

I have a Adrad as per your website. I suspose it is not a problem but if I thought the thermastat needed replacing I would replace it. It will be interesting to see how the new radiator goes in Summer as the old one was always on the edge.

AussieRCbasher had the same problem and fixed it by fitting a Dayco themostat from Repco for only $12.
I tried to get one from Repco here but they wanted something like $69 for the correct 91*C one!

Yes my thermostat was jammed open and wasnt letting the engine get abover 50-60C so i put a new el cheapo thermostat in and shes running sweet. it sits on 90 or there abouts on the guage and stays there while driving, and will seep up to 95 if in traffic for long periods of time. so far thats the only movement ive had.
