Default UHF Installed!!

I got my UHF installed today. Originally they were going to mount the aerial to the rear brake light bracket but didn't look strong enough so went for a windscreen mounted one instead. In the pic I have the long range aerial on, I also have a short stubby one for around town.

Only question is....where to mount the mic????

Where did they end up putting the main part of the TX? And (stupid question time) do they drill a hole through the windscreen to pass the cable through? Or is it an induction thing?

Looks awesome. Thanks for the pics as I need ideas for my UHF. I picked up all our gear except the bar and winch today. Can't wait to get it...

The main part is in behind the glove box but you wouldn't know it unless you took it out!!

It is an induction thing - no holes in the windscreen!

Do you need a external speaker? & which cb did u get?

Nice install, in my XJ I put in a aftermarket normal sized head unit then used the extra stereo space to mount the face for the stereo I might do the same with the JK.

Looks pretty good John. The location works nicely. Can you provice details on the brand and model. I'm interested in doing something similar, but thought I would be sacrificing a lot of console space.

Dave: I don't know what they did but I think there is an external speaker and they mounted it behind the plastic just to the right of the dials etc. (If that makes sense). Can hear it perfectly so whatever they did is good.

Sonik: The unit is a GME TX3420 Remote Head and the antennae is a RFI AP454-71-5G On Glass.

Total cost including installation was $668.55.
