Default CRD 10K service survey SYDNEY

Did a ring around as I am just about to get my 10K service done and here is what I was quoted over the phone. Time was quoted as 1.8 to 3 hours, averag 2hr.

Parramatta $445
Brookvale $350-380
Penrith $350
Wollongong $345
Liverpool $290
Sylvania $290
Chatswood $290

As you can see, ther is a mass ive differemce.

I would be interested to hear what other people have been charged.

Also make sure that they use the right grade of Synthetic oil as some dealer may try and give you a cheaper oil than specified by VM motori (engine manufacturer).

Gday,
I would be surprised if Chatswood will come to the party at that price. I just had an oil and filter change, which they wanted to charge me $210 for!!!! I simply told them that was too expensive, and I wanted him to detail the individual costs... At this he said "oh we will do it for 190 if you like". Still VERY expensive!! When i asked him how much a 10K service was he plucked out a figure of 385 from his behind... Id be very clear on what you are paying before you take the vehicle in!
Cheers!

That's a big difference in price. Pays to shop around.

If it's just a minor service like an oil change then go to a non jeep mechanic. I've never taken any car back to the dealer for services as a good mate of mine owns a workshop. Never had any problems with getting warranty work done as my book was always stamped & genuine parts (oil filter etc) were always used.

Any mechanic can be trusted with an oil change... well, no less than a dealer anyway. Better still, take your own oil. They don't mind.

Just make sure they use a genuine filter and

My first service is a freebie. Being paid for by the comapny that stuffed me around with the thermo fan. I'll be asking the local mech to spare no expense with the quality of oil.

Why doen't you go to a REPCO mechanic, you won't loose you warranty and they will give you a 10000klm warranty Australia wide . I am only guessing but your service wouldn't cost more than $150 at a REPCO mechanic.
