Default Differences between D44A and D44 Diff Hats

Was wondering what the differences are between the D44a & D44 diff hats? I know some of you guys ordered D44 rockcrusher diff hats with the group buy a while ago. Did they end up fitting them in palce of the D44a hats?

I was part of organising the rockcrusher group buy and did buy the d44 hat but everything looked the same but the holes for the bolts did not match up.

Thanks for that MRGC - I knew there was an issue but was wondering what it was. The reason I asked is becasue I was wondering if the ARB Diff hat would fit but they only do a D44. Might see if they can do one with modified holes so it can fit the D44a
or no holes and drill them myself.

That's because you are running a D44 diff on the TJ and not a D44A like on the WJ Grands

My understanding is:

D44 = Steel/Iron housing = YJ/TJ

D44a = Aluminium housing = WJ

They are different beasts so would be incompatible.
