Default Floor quite hot when driving. Is this normal?

When driving longer distances or on the beach the floor gets hot especially around the transmission area, is this a normal thing for the TJ's or do I have an issue.

Carpet helps to make it feel cooler. If you have removed it, it will hotter in the cab.

Also, the catalytic convertor is right under the driver seat. Make sure heat shields are not missing or damaged.

Just throwing a idea out there (not knowing the layout of a TJ underbelly) would it be possible to move the CAT to the rear most secion under the cab, like under the rear seats? or is that too far back?

and would a stainless zorst help keep things cooler?

and i suppose wrapping the section under the drivers footwell in that heatwrap could help too?

Or HPC Coating the extractors?
