an XR250 is probably all youll get out of 2500 grand, its no race bike but very very very very reliable, a good commuter with a nice comfy seat and run off the sniff of an oily rag....

if there was no budget then yes im with jimmy WR250F Motard or KTM 250EXC-F Motard..

4-Stroke: XR's or TTR's are pretty reliable in that price range and poke along alright. Mate has a 99 TTR that has done 35K and still going strong after a hard life (plus has electric start)

Personally I would go with the WR250F or maybe an RMX 250 in that price range for some 2 stroke accelleration!

depends on what else you want it for is you want something to fang around the bush with as well a xr is the go if you just want commuter go a small roas bike bit more comfy for long commutes and with a faring has a bit of weather protection if the weather comes in while you are at work
