Question Hardtop Removal

Picked up the new JK on Saturday morning and drove it back to Albury/Wodonga straight away. It's not yellow or a petrol as we were after originally, instead it's Black and a diesel. I think it's worked out better this way and loved taking it over Baranduda Range this afternoon.
Now to the reason for this post. I went to remove the soft-top from her prior to heading out and (call me a limp wrist) I'll be buggered if I can get the 6 Torx bolts undone. I resorted to a power drill with T40 bit to get one undone. But this will not help with the front two or the rear two. Has anyone else had trouble getting these six bolts to move and if so how did you over come the problem. This is in an 08 2dr.

Cheers

Darren

nah they def shoudn't be that tight. I initially used a torx bit in a socket drive but now days just use a torx screwdriver, too tight and they'll crack the lip of the hardtop.

Picked up my new JK on Tuesday, took the hardtop off Thursday with no problem. Bit awkward getting at the front 2, but a flex head got around the soft top stuff and it all came out easily. Wonder what they did to yours....

Went and bought an "Allen Key" Torx set (from Bunnings of all places) and its amazing what a bit of leverage can achieve. Was still a pain to get the front and rear ones out. But now the soft-top is out it shouldn't be a problem. Was just cracking them the first time that was causing dramas.

Thanks all for the help

Darren
