Default '96 XJ front hubs

My mechanic tells me that there are 2 types of front hubs for the '96 cherro XJ sport.
I havent heard of this, can anyone confirm this please?

There are two types but for XJ's as a whole, not just for 96's. The hub change happened in 1999.

I think I read somewhere that jeep sell these for $750 each, but I could be mistaken. Go Wooders.

wheeliebins right. You could also try rockauto.com, this is where I got mine- timken ones - good price - and on my doorstep in less than a week.

Front bearing/hub is 270odd euro from the dealer here in Ireland.. (442AUD)

Good 'ol Wooders has them for $195 plus freight, thats where mine will be coming from.

Check rock auto in the states,
~$96 AUD(old type Timken) ~$81 (New type Timken) + postage of $88 AUD.
if you get two however postage is $123 for both
$315 /$285 delivered. .
I have used rock auto heaps (NOT for jeeps) found them excellent.
