Default Stereo and UHF

Does any one know if it's feasible to fit both a standard size aftermarket stereo head unit (1 DIN) and a small slim UHF CB in the space occupied by the TJ stereo?

I can't find anyone who has done it but it looks like it might fit.

Any thoughts?

Willo

I'd be interested to see where this goes as I was planning to try the very same thing shortly on my XJ. There seems to otherwise be a lack of mounting room available for CBs in the Jeeps.

Would love to see pics of anyones install jobs for their radios (slightly off topic willo24 - hope you don't mind)

I've been looking around for the same thing as well and come up with nada so far. I'm guessing you've both got the update dash & stereo like me??

yes it's possible and yes i can do it.... but it's a long drive to get here

but this is a easier option

mount the unit behind the dash and you just have the handset to use

Works a treat, have it mounted to the bottom of the steering column behind the dash, works a treat and can still hear it.

Anyone who has a stereo in their wrangler doesn't take the top off enough to kill the radio with dust and rain Shame on you and your topped jeep

Um, mine's been flooded from leaving the top off in the rain, and there's a nice caking of dust in it.

Having said that, my radio is off for repair!
