Default engel vs waeco vs evakool

g'day guys and gals,

What are youse running in the back of ya KJs?

Does anyone have the 55L Evakool fridgemate?
Looking at the measurements, it could juuust fit in the cargo area of the kj (placed longitudinally).

Thanks,
Eric.

I have the everkool 60ltr white fiberglass one and it fits fine east-west with some room left. The tie-down points on the right side hamper things a bit as the straps get in the road of some useable space, might look into moving them a bit.

Weaco 35lt..

I got the 35 so I could mount in the back north south, to keep as much usable space left in the boot as possible.

In the pics you see it to the right of my cargo system.

No I don't have any plans for the box

OH, and PS..

The secret to having a fridge run at its best in a car, is to run a new dedicated power supply directly from the battery, 6mm +&- is best.

Thanks fellas,

Yeah, i'm going to run separate 8G pos and neg power to a hella/merrit type connector in the back.

Cmohr - I see you've removed the handles on your 35L Waeco. I take it then that you don't remove the unit from the back whilst camping? I have a similar box type setup to you, except mine is more a shelf system and i'll have to use the fridge on a slide (coz there's a shelf at about top-of-seat height).

Jamesjoseph - does the evakool you have fit North-South in the cargo bay? Or can it only fit in across-wise?

Thanks!

Eric.
