Default Choice of Engine

There is not a lot of turnover in the Commander Forum and I can either attribute this to most people being happy with their machines, or there not be a lot of people with these machines.

A general question: What kind of donk is under your bonnet and do you regret getting this engine type? If so, why??? Any Hemi owners out there? How well does the 4cyl shutdown work???

Yes, can't complain about our CRD. Now up to 96,000kms. Reading the grand forum makes me nervous though. Time to buy the extended warranty. Pulled the t-van at 120kms for a whole day in the NT last year.

I too have the CRD, tow a camper trailer, do all sorts of off road stuff and it's great. 15 months old 50,000 kms and no problems at all.

CRD here. it's 2 1/2 years old, came to me as an ex Chrysler car at 12 months old and 12000kms on the clock. I did 40000kms in first year, 5000kms in last 6 months (changed jobs). Have towed the 2 tonne van for about 5000kms of that without any dramas at all. Love the car, planning on keeping it when lease runs out mid 2010. Getting it set up at present for a run across the Simpson later this year.
