Default Info needed on Dicky seats for a Grand Cherokee

Hello to all, I am new to this forum (great forum by the way) and to Jeep's,. Anyway have been looking for 4X4,s recently mostly Discos as they come standard with the 7 seats and a good list of creature comforts and some others as well, however I like the look and comforts the Jeep has to offer, however due to family size need a 7 seater.
Can anyone tell me if Jeep has made a 7 seater for the Australian market between years 1996 to 2002?
Furthermore I have come across a couple of Jeeps for sale with the 2 extra seats in the back (one needs work and don’t have the time, the other to expensive) and am wondering if anyone here knows of a place that they either make them or sell them, and does anyone have some pics that they can send me or post up so I can get an idea of leg room and also storage behind the seats.
Thanks
Rich

Jeeps with 7 seats that i have found are located here:

I bought mine as a 7 seater. When I looked closer it had no modification plate - adding seats is a fairly serious modification.

Also, there is not much head room or leg room. Only small kids. My 10 year old kept hitting her head. And when in use, virtually no room for luggage, and if you are carrying 7 people, you usually want some space for luggage. As such, I have these fantastic leather seats just sitting in a spare room wasting space.

Love the Jeep - but as a 7 seater, not much chop.

Thanks guys, PMAC out of interest how tall is your 10 yr old, I am hoping hoping she is the class giant , if not, I think this might have just killed the idea of the Cherokee,

Anyone ever carried out a roof mod

Isn't the back of the JGC a crumple zone anyway.... not the best to put seats in there...

Cheers

Actually, it's worse.

She didn't hit her head. She had to sit there with her head tilted forward the whole time I now recall.

Yep she's tall, but not overly. Probably just under 5 ft. Seats were only rated to 35kg.

Have you thought of roof racks? Heaps of head room!

Yea when people asked about the 7 seats we would advise not to do it but if they really wanted 7 seats we would advise no older than a 5 year old...

Like all 7/8 seaters once the seats are in use bugger all room in the boot
