Default Newbie: Torx Pivot Screws for Soft top

Hi Guys,

I've finally managed to get my new JK!! Yehaa! It's a flame red 07 4Dr Rubicon all stock so far. I had it sent up from Melbourne to Sydney to save a few dollars as NSW prices were a bit much for my pocket.

Anyway, all is great except the previous owner never used the soft top and didn't leave the 4 pivot screws in the boxes.

The dealer is telling me Jeep Melbourne don't have any in stock and don't know when they will get any!! Grrrrr. The weather is great and i can't get the soft top on, most annoying!!

Anyway, do any of you know where i can get some replacment screws? These are the screws that hold the pivot arms to the brackets, not the screws that hold the brackets to the car. I need 2 on each side. the manual calls them pivot screws and they are Torx 30, but that's all i can find out.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Here's hoping!

Hi Hollywood, cheers mate. I'm also relatively new to Aus, only been here for 3 yrs. When you say bolt shop, do you mean anyone in particular? Also I know it's a T30, but i don't know the thread type or sizes?

Does anyone have any pictures or measurements of the screws?

mate try a hardware store or coventries or repcvo, if they don't have them i'm sure they can direct you to a specialist store. if not try the yellow pages. try headings like "bolts" "machine screws" or similar.

Just buy a whole bunch in all the sizes that look like they'll fit. It will the cheapest parts you'll ever buy for your jeep, so live it up.

mate you said it was a torx 30. that is the size as far as i know, just have a guess at the length. i have a set of torx head sockets (40 bucks at repco), as far as i know it's like getting a 15mm spanner on a nut, it has a set size of bolt attached to it, unless it's an odd one.
