Default RWC in victoria with soft top removed???

hey guys,quick question,

i just purchased a tj soft top from NSW and i have to get a RWC to transfer the car into my name, now the roof on it was all ripped etc so i just removed it and am currently looking for a replacement one,

now would i have to get the new roof before i can obtain a Victorian RWC or would it pass a road worthy check without the roof??

thanks in advance for the info guys

I am sure the TJ with a soft top is imported as a convertable, and therefore should pass a RWC without its roof up.

Have it fitted but not up. Have windows with you awell. For a car to be roadworthy you need to have clear vision through windows. They may want to check it.

Ring where you are going to get it inspected and ask if you need to put it on for their inspection.

x 2. They need to see the "windows" have clear vision, don't know why but they do. They are a few decent soft tops in the trade secetion at the moment, failing that just have the old soft top fitted but down with the windows.

Yeah I wouldnt call ahead then you have no excuse.
Just rock up soft top down. When (and if) they ask you to put it up so they can see the windows. Put it up and say:
" I use crystal clear window cleaner see? Cant even see them" (insert dumb laugh) and say "sorry mate. Didnt even think of bringing them down. I live in warraknabeal do I have to bring them back. There fine for whatever its worth I promise"
And hopefully the response will be :
" Nah, sheel be right mate".

Isnt a soft top classed as an accessory?
Why would an accessory come under RWC?
