Default My KK story

Ex KJ owner, upgraded to 3.7 KK LTD.
Love it, a whole host of improvements over the KJ, (which I thoroughly enjoyed owning).
However, now on 16000km and this is what's been done so far:
U-Connect does'nt work with Blackberry (according to Daimler Chrysler) so aftermarket Parrot fitted, and refitted, and refitted, and still does'nt work.
On delivery, 4x4 selector did'nt work and warning light was on (pd inspection ??)
Water leak in rear corrected as per service bulletin (on third attempt)
Scuff plate on rear bumper warped in the Victoria summer heat
Delivered with cracked A-Pillar moulding (Again, pd inspection?)
Gearbox shudder when shifting into OD (ongoing)

Quality control by the dealer would have gone a long way toward avoiding a lot of these issues. The dealer's been great....unbelievably helpful and a pleasure to do business with and have corrected every single item (except the Parrot kit) under warranty, still it's been a pain in the A.. They just don't specialise in Jeep and are not 100% on top of the issues.

It's a great vehicle, but if your'e looking at buying one, I suggest getting it from a dedicated Jeep dealer, not one that sells multiple brands and does'nt focus on the product.

Such a shame to read about your woes even before you took it out of the yard...but happy to read that you are happy with what you bought.....

Not sure what functionality you want from the U-connect with a blackberry, but I have it working with both a blackberry and a nokia for the telephone functionality.

Won't even stay connected to BB (Bold). Phone rings and within about 5 seconds of answering it loses connection completely.
According to DC it's an "Australian network related issue common to Blackberry". Nokia ia apparently not a problem.....go figure !
Personally, I think the dealer just did'nt have the know how to get it working.

Quantum

i have been using a blackberry bold with the u connect in my new KK - absolutley no problems (other than it not understanding me occasionally and having to repeat). I think they are telling you porky pies by blaming it on the network/device.

I suspect dealer lack of expertise is more to blame than anything else.

Also love to have a quiet chat to the moron that designed the rear mudflaps. It's obvious he's never been offroad.
