Default swaybar Disconects

if i fit swaybars disconects what do i need to be aware of ,shock lengths etc i have a 96 xj 3inch lift

Turn your own swaybar links into dissconects.Check the XJ sticky thread under dissconects,to easy,it,ll cost app $12.

You will need to be careful if the shocks are limiting the travel, with mine the shocks and the control arms reach their limit at the same time (aftermarket control arms)......
To check it just disconnect the swaybar and unbolt the shocks and then jack one side of the diff up until it lifts the opposite side off the ground, this will leave the diff hanging and then you will easily be able to see how the shock length compares to the mount and then you will know if the shock is the limiter for travel or not.
I hope that makes sense....

Shock lengths should have no relation to your swaybar disconnects.
You have your coils, to which your bump stops should match, and then the shocks match to the bump stops.
Then the swaybar position is adjusted relative to the static ride height. This is done by having the ideal link length so that the swaybar is in it's sweet spot.
Wheel travel has even less to do with your swaybar lengths since the swaybar is usually discoonected when getting maximum travel offroad
